bob pendarvis
what's the deal with this "bob pendarvis" guy? well, i've been writing and recording my own music cds for several years now. what sort of music? i'm not sure how to describe it, but to me it sounds like one part beatles, one part monkees, one part beach boys, one part who, one part nilsson, and several parts ditty bops (cause they rule over all). i'm not suggesting that i'm anywhere near as talented as those folks, only that we share similar interests in melody-driven pop songs with everly brothers influenced harmonies and a power chord or two. my cds to date are A GIRL I USED TO KNOW, JUST ME, and LOW COUNTRY LADY.
A GIRL I USED TO KNOW
(written, produced, and performed by bob) by the way, the "girl" on the cover is the one and only AINSLEY WALLER (a pretty little thing, eh?), while the photo was taken by bob, the graphic design for the album was handled by the ultra-talented JEN JANVIERE.
track list: HEIDI/ANOTHER BLUE SKY/FOR YOU/TODAY/LITTLE MISS UNDERESTIMATED KHAKI JONES/ AINSLEY/SHE TAKES MY HAND ALL I LIVE FOR/C'MON, LET'S GO/UP TO HERE/A GIRL I USED TO KNOW/AT LAST/ I ONLY HOPE
JUST ME
(written, produced, and performed by bob)
the cartoon drawings used for this cd were derived from my comic strip A GIRL CALLED ANA, but the graphic design this time around was handled by the amazing miss BARBARA CHAPMAN.
track list: PAINTINGS OF YOU/BRAND NEW PANTS/A GIRL CALLED ANA/ROBOT BOY KING OF THE LEAF PEOPLE/JUST ME/ABBY AND AMANDA/RAIN, RAIN/ HAPPINESS/PICKLE JUICE BLUES/WHO KNOWS?
LOW COUNTRY LADY
(written, produced and performed by bob and bob, sr.)
the "low country lady" on the cover photos is actually the lovely KAT (KITTY) SHEA. for this album, the design work was handled by the quietly awesome EMMA RAVENEL.
track list: LOW COUNTRY LADY/MIDNITE GARDEN PARTY/THE MILLIONAIRE'S CLUB/DOWN AT FORSYTH PARK/PIRATE QUEEN/WATCHING THE WAVES/ LOW COUNTRY LADY (version two)/MARY THE WANDERER/SHE WAS AFRAID OF THE DARK/ LIGHTHOUSE/OGLETHORPE AND MONTIANO/SHE'S COMING HOME TODAY
what else is there to know about me? well, i was the very first comics illustration professor at the SAVANNAH COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN and i co-founded their sequential art department (along with MARK KNEECE and BO HAMPTON). not too shabby, eh?
