bob pendarvis: song lyrics

all i live for (from the album A GIRL I USED TO KNOW)

the second song in the mini opera. many years ago, back when i was first wrote this song, i suffered a terrible loss: most of my comic collection (it was HUGE, people...thousands and thousands of comics, toys, artwork...waaaah). there was a flood in savannah and gunky ditch water filled my storage unit. i will never forget the shock of opening that door and seeing everything covered in smelly, swampy, goo...arrrgh!!! still, i told myself it didn't matter, because i had a girl who loved me (little did i realize how deluded i was on that score...sigh). ever since that day, i've never regained my "own it all" collectors mentality. growing up sucks.
when i was younger
i knew what i wanted
to live in a castle
preferably haunted
built on an island
all paid for in cash
with towering walls
that nothing could smash

none of it matters
to me anymore
being with you
is all i live for

i'd have lots of rooms
to keep all my stuff
i figured a hundred
just might be enough
jet packs and spaceships
in all shapes and sizes
talkative robots
with lots of surprises

none of it matters
to me anymore
being with you
is all i live for

my friends would all live there
my mom and dad, too
and we'd all be happy
with so much to do
swimming and surfing
as long as we'd like
or maybe go flying
on my hoverbike

none of it matters
to me anymore
being with you
is all i live for

none of it matters
to me anymore
being with you
is all i live for
