bob pendarvis: song lyrics

the title track of the album and the final song in the mini opera (i know, i know...not much of a mini opera, but "song cycle" just isn't as fun). i wrote this song for a girl who i used to be madly in love with. turned out she wasn't madly in love with me. kinda depressed me for a looooong time, but i'm happy to say that i'm over it now. i'm also happy that i didn't make it a bitter, resentful song. by including it in my mini opera, it allows nice closure to the love story about the lonely guy who meets a girl at a party, falls madly in love, gradually loses his passion, demands she give him some space...and winds up alone and regretful (idiot).
