i REALLY like this stupid song. the lyrics crack me up and i wrote them as they popped into my head. a previous version of the song was all about the savannah college of art and design, and i like those lyrics, too...but the lyrics in this version make me smile.
slowly drifting off to sleep
the other night
when suddenly my room
grew very bright
a pretty girl
was standing by my bed
i couldn't understand
a word she said
i don't know
if she came here by design
i only hope
that one day she'll be mine
i knew as soon
as i looked at her face
she was a stranger
to the human race
perhaps she came
from somewhere
out in space
a hundred million lightyears
from this place
a gentle kiss
followed by
a warm embrace
and she was gone
without a single trace
i don't know
if she came here by design
i only hope
that one day she'll be mine
sometimes i fear
that i will never learn
to give up thinking
she'll one day return
a simple dream
that couldn't have been real
it doesn't change the way i feel
i knew as soon
as i looked at her face
she was a stranger
to the human race
perhaps she came
from outer space
a hundred million lightyears
from this place
a gentle kiss
followed by
a warm embrace
and she was gone
without a single trace
i don't know
if she came here by design
i only hope
that one day she'll be mine
twenty years from now
and twenty years from then
i'll still be wishing
i could see her once again
no other girls i know
are able to compete
my wandering spacegirl
always has them beat
i don't know
if she came here by design
i only hope
that one day she'll be mine
i only hope
that one day she'll be mine
